Vintage Art Deco diamond engagement ring. A dazzling old European cut diamond with a delicate warm hue, set in four corner prongs, is embraced by two milgrain-trimmed arcs, set with four dainty single cut diamonds each, each arc framing two tiny milgrained leaf motifs. The softened knife-edge shank meets the arc shoulders with a single cut diamond set within a milgrained shield-shaped frame on each side. The shank is further accented with an embossed fleur-de-lis motif each side. The geometric profile features gradated cutout arches, and a milgrained double scroll motif at the center of the basket. A sparkly ring which marries antique romance with a modernist Art Deco profile. The central diamond is approx. .75 carats, M color, SI1 clarity, eye clean. Ten additional diamonds total approx. .14 carats. Stamped 18KT and JABEL, and tests as 18K gold. JABEL is the maker's mark of the Jabel Ring Manufacturing Company, founded in Newark, NJ in 1916. They are known to have perfected the die-struck technique. The company is still in operation today. Circa 1930s. The ring is in good vintage condition, with some minor wear, commensurate with age.
