Art Deco 1.03 CTW Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
Vintage Art Deco diamond engagement ring. A dazzling old European cut diamond, set in four corner prongs, each accented with linear engraving, is embraced by three stepped and graduated rectangles on each side, trimmed in milgrain and set with twelve glittering single cut diamonds. The shank features a gently worn scroll motif where it meets the shoulders. The openwork basket is comprised of scrolls that meet to form a central heart motif, and is flanked by graduated cutout rectangles. A glamorous ring whose geometric face is balanced by a few well-placed curvilinear elements. The central diamond is approx. .86 carats, L color, SI1 clarity, eye clean. Twelve additional side diamonds total approx. .17 carats. No hallmarks, but tests as platinum. Circa 1930s. The ring is in good vintage condition, with some minor wear, commensurate with age.
