Edwardian .50 CTW Old Mine Cut Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring
Antique Edwardian diamond engagement ring in gold and platinum. A scintillating old mine cut diamond in a platinum milgrained bezel hovers above platinum-topped bypass shoulders, studded with ten dainty single cut diamonds, in a wonderfully minimal interpretation of a classic tourbillon design. The gold shank features a softened knife edge all the way around. The bezel around the center diamond is a simple band encircling the girdle of the diamond, with the deep pavillion visible below. An elegantly simple and delicately proportioned ring. The center diamond is approx. .40 carats, I color, SI1 clarity, eye clean and very bright. The side diamonds total an additional .10 carats. Circa 1910s. No hallmarks, but tests as 18K gold and platinum. This ring is in good vintage condition, with some wear commensurate with age.
