Art Deco .34 CTW Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring with Sapphire Accents
Vintage Art Deco diamond engagement ring. A glittering old European cut diamond, held in a platinum milgrained bezel setting is suspended as if weightless at the center of a platinum-topped vignette, flanked on either side by curved alternating bands of rose cut diamonds and calibre cut sapphires trimmed in delicate milgrain, and capped above and below by a dainty rose cut diamond in a fan-shaped frame nestled into a hollow. The striped shoulders flare slightly before tapering to meet the golden shank. The golden profile is low and streamlined, following the scalloped shape of the face. A romantic and vibrantly detailed ring. The center diamond is approx. .25 carats, K color, I1 clarity, eye clean. The additional side diamonds total an estimated .09 carats, and the sapphires an estimated .20 carats. No hallmarks, but tests as platinum and 18K gold. Circa 1920s. This ring is in good vintage condition.
