Edwardian 1.69 CTW Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
Antique Edwardian Diamond ring in platinum. A dazzling old European cut diamond is held aloft by four grooved prongs, framed on either side by a trefoil trefoil motif set with a single cut diamond, and framed all around by two diamond-studded ribbon motifs which wrap around the center diamond and criss-cross at each shoulder, where they frame a diamond-studded quatrefoil motif before transitioning to a tapering domed shank, beautifully engraved three quarters of the way around with an additional trefoil and braided motif. The profile features a series of slender and elegant lancet arches. A regal and masterfully detailed ring. The center diamond is approximately 1.35 carat, H color, VS2 clarity, eye clean. The side diamonds total approx. .34 carats additional. Stamped IRID PLAT for platinum, and tests as platinum. Circa 1910s. The ring is in very good vintage condition, with some wear to some of the engraved details, commensurate with age.
