Art Deco 1.01 CTW Old European Cut Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring
Vintage Art Deco diamond and emerald engagement ring. A stunning Old European cut diamond, held by four beautifully detailed platinum corner prongs, is flanked either side by a mix of twelve old European cut and high-crowned single cut diamonds in three milgrain-trimmed rows that taper to a point accented by four calibre cut emeralds. The center diamond is further framed by four additional old European cut and single cut diamonds arranged in pairs of two above below. The shank is engraved on three sides with entwined vine and foliate motifs, and meets the shoulders with a single cut diamond framed in a milgrain-trimmed leaf-shaped frame. The profile is simple, punctuated by the timeworn flower or starburst engraved motifs on the prongs. A captivating Art Deco ring that marries geometric and naturalistic elements effortlessly. The center diamond is approx. .65 carats, M color, VS2 clarity, eye clean. The side diamonds total approx. .36 carats additional. The emerald accents total approx. .06 carats. stamped “PLATINUM”, and tests as such. Circa 1920s. This ring is in good vintage condition, with some overall wear to the engraving, commensurate with age.
