Edwardian .82 CTW Old European Cut Diamond Halo Engagement Ring

$3,100.00

Antique Edwardian platinum and diamond ring. A scintillating old European cut diamond in a milgrained bezel setting is surrounded by a scalloped halo of twinkling single cut diamonds that float around the center diamond, tethered only by the finest platinum filaments. The effect is reminiscent of a dandelion seed head. The low-set profile features a simple openwork gallery. The shoulders feature a diamond-set tulip motif oulined in delicate milgrain. The shank at the back is smooth and half-round. A lovely example of the light and airy Edwardian aesthetic. We estimate the center diamond is approx. .40 carats, J color, VS2 clarity, eye clean. Side diamonds total an additional .42 carats. Circa 1910s. No markings, but tests as platinum. This ring is in good vintage condition. The bead settings of the halo have been touched up with white gold at some point, but the color difference is not perceptible except under magnification.

This ring is currently a US size 6, but can be resized by your local jeweler.
